innovations for sustainable living from around the world

This is a natural swimming pool we designed and built in Kettleby, Ontario in 2006. Native aquatic plants are used as an 'organic cleanser' to help filter the water in an area surrounding the swimming zone, thus no chemicals are needed (ie.chlorine). A series of waterfalls, a skimmer and a pump help aerate the pool.
