What makes this site unique is its focus on solutions above all
else, presented either as videos or blogs. It's for that reason
they are found under the tab 'Solutions'.
To maintain consistency and usefulness, it would help greatly if
you try to follow these guidelines.
1 - Please make the focus of your blog or video about a specific
solution. By all means talk about the problems and issues that need
overcoming, but remember, the purpose is to prsent solutions. if
you want to have a rant about something, there are thousands of
other sites out there dying to hear from you.
2 - Please make the title clear, and use it to express as briefly
as possible what the solution featured in your post is. So 'Woman
invents self-refilling jug'. or 'Village find goose that lays
golden egg'.
3 - For blogs, please include a photograph at the top of your post
if possible. Do this by clicking on the camera icon (second from
right at top of box where you enter text). Click on 'upload an
image' and upload an image from your computer. If you have found an
image on the internet, please check you have permission to use it,
or that it is copyright-free. Then click on 'options'. Tick the
boxes for 'wrap text around image', 'image on left' and 'select
thumbnail'
4 - Add some tags, separated by commas. These help people find
posts that are relevant to what they are looking for. Go to the
main blog
page and look at the list of tags on the right and if any of
those apply to your post, add them. Add any others, trying to
ensure you have covered the category of solution you are featuring,
in what country it is found (if relevant), and what problems it
addresses - so a blog about a self-refilling jug might be tagged
'water, thirst, free, Greece'
5 - If there are any websites you want people to go to - especially
if the project or solution has a website, please make sure they are
mentioned. You can write it at the bottom, or link to it from
inside the blog. You do this is as follows: find the word in the
text that refers to the website - eg 'Ivili'. Highlight it as if to
copy it. Then click on the 'link to url' button above the text box
(it's the box to the left of the camera, that looks like three
links in a chain'). In the drop down box that appears, add the
details of the relevant website. When you preview the page before
publishing, it should appear in green, and if you click on the
word, open the relevant webpage.
6 - Tick the box marked 'allow comments'
7 - Click the button marked 'preview page'. Once you are happy,
click the box marked 'publish'. Your blog will now be sent to the
moderators for approval bfore appearing on the site.
