The Blue Yonder is organising series of workshops in India in consulation with
ICRT India on Responsible Tourism.
There are literally 100s of small, medium and large properties across India that are working to achieve long term sustainability in their business, by implementing various initiatives that helps them manage water, energy, waste to mention a few. Some of them are involved in Natural Resource Management, some in renewable energy solutions, some use stationery items made out of elephant dung, there are some others who use only sustainable bamboo products.
The idea of the workshop is to bring together such experts who have actually implemented innovative methods in their business, so that they can share their expertise. There are so many islands of excellence and as in most case, there is no need to re-invent the wheel. These are masters who have dirtied their hands, who learnt from their experiences. We believe they can show how such initiatives can also be profitable. Actually, how an organisation can be profitable by being responsible!
We have not yet finalised the case studies, though we are looking at topics covering Energy, Water, Waste, Building technologies, with a focus on economic feasibility. It will be great to hear from the ivili members if you can suggest some case studies / themes that inspired you with their innovation. It doesn't have to come only from India, after all the idea of this forum is to learn from practitioners across the world.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you!
